Scott Mandelker was born on April 22, 1962 in New York City (Western star sign Taurus, Chinese water Tiger), named after US astronaut Scott Carpenter. He began his study of Eastern religion and psychology in high school, by himself. During university years, he lived in Buddhist temples in the US, India and Thailand doing intensive meditation.

Later, he earned a B.A. in Buddhist Studies and Psychology in 1987 from Naropa Institute (in Boulder, Colorado: www.naropa.edu), and then moved to San Francisco in 1988. In SF, he received a M.A. in Counseling, and Ph.D. in East West Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS: www.ciis.edu).

Since 1992, he has given counseling, seminars, and study groups in the US, and Israel. His Ph.D. research became his first book, "From Elsewhere," and his second book was published in 2000 ("Universal Vision", Tokuma Shoten translation in 2008).

He's been to Japan nearly 20 times, traveled all over the country, and presents his work in English with translators.

Scott's work focuses on self-empowerment, unconditional acceptance and inner wisdom, based on universal principles of love, balance, and spiritual will. After 30 years of meditation and study, he's very glad to work helping others find peace, truth and self-confidence.

He offers seminars and workshops, study and meditation groups, and personal sessions. He works by spiritual dialogue -- speaking honestly and listening, and encouraging others to speak their own truth. All answers are within us already, and Scott’s work gives a mirror for self-discovery.
